Description

Practical Bodywork is Stephanie Lee Jackson, LMT. I have been practicing massage therapy for twelve years; I obtained my certification at the National Holistic Institute in Emeryville, CA. There I studied the fundamentals of Swedish massage, Shiatsu, Deep Tissue, Myofascial Release, and Reflexology, but my real education came in the ensuing years of working with clients.

In addition to my private practice, I have worked at the Balance Health Center in Philadelphia, Wall Street Chiropractic in Manhattan, Healing Arts in Brooklyn, and Casa de los Espiritus in Guanajuato, Mexico. I write a column on massage therapy for the Philadelphia Examiner.

Giving a great massage is more like playing the violin than washing a car; it takes knowledge, intuition, and enormous amounts of practice. I learn something from every client, and from every therapist I work with. When you book a session with me, you're getting the benefit of twelve years of discovery.
